WELCOME to this blog for the JOSS Class of 1968. This blog is for us, members of this class. It celebrates all of us, all that we are individually and as a group, and honors those who have died. Each one of us is uniquely graced and gifted.

Most of us first came together in 1956 at a little-known place in Central Ohio. Others arrived later. Whether we left the Josephinum before ordination or were ordained in 1968, we all followed uniquely individual calls.

We have journeyed through significant historical times - "Camelot", Vatican II, the Vietnam War, exploration of space, the civil rights movement, advances in communication technology, sexual abuse in the Catholic Church, growth in and loss of relationships, terrorism, medical/surgical breakthroughs, "Arab Spring", and much more.

The vision for this blog is to connect anew, share our stories, support one another.

Greetings! Jump on board! Peace and Shalom!

Planning for 2016 Reunion Proceeding

Chris and I just spent two days at North Carolina's Outer Banks the week of October 12 in order to finalize lodging arrangements and to scout out several sites of interest for our 2016 class reunion.  While we were there, the weather was sunny and comfortable; the beach, enticing and welcoming; the ocean; majestic and peaceful.

We reserved a group of rooms at the Hampton Inn and Suites which is a few miles south of Corolla, NC, for the dates of October 19-23, 2016.  The Hampton is a lovely, oceanfront facility with direct access to the beach: outerbanks.hamptoninn.com.  Our room rate will be $89 + tax per night.

Chris and I also checked out the boardwalk of Manteo, NC; a fishery in Wanchese, NC; an art studio near the Hatteras Lighthouse; the historic village of Corolla, NC; and other sites.  In the course of food-tasting at a few restaurants, we came across the historic Lifesaving Station No. 5 for lunch.  Of course, the Wright Brothers Memorial, Jockey Ridge State Park (huge sand dunes), and the wild horses in their natural habitat north of Corolla all beckon.

This weekend we placed the Save-the-Dates postcards in the mail.  After the approaching holidays we will mail more detailed information regarding our reunion to everyone in our class for whom we have contact information.

  1. the postcard was very nice......Donna and I will have a year to get ourselves in better shape for the trip.....Donna has an appointment for some type of heavy breathing problem and shortness of breath that is very worrisome, so hopefully we get to a solution.....she has had two appointments but both were cancelled due to some type of problem with our insurance and we had to change doctors and start all over and I have reached the point where I think I have to do something about my knees....pain is getting unbearable, but otherwise we are great.......going on a buggy ride on Thursday and smores nite at a bed and breakfast near Lancaster......hi to everyone.......
