WELCOME to this blog for the JOSS Class of 1968. This blog is for us, members of this class. It celebrates all of us, all that we are individually and as a group, and honors those who have died. Each one of us is uniquely graced and gifted.

Most of us first came together in 1956 at a little-known place in Central Ohio. Others arrived later. Whether we left the Josephinum before ordination or were ordained in 1968, we all followed uniquely individual calls.

We have journeyed through significant historical times - "Camelot", Vatican II, the Vietnam War, exploration of space, the civil rights movement, advances in communication technology, sexual abuse in the Catholic Church, growth in and loss of relationships, terrorism, medical/surgical breakthroughs, "Arab Spring", and much more.

The vision for this blog is to connect anew, share our stories, support one another.

Greetings! Jump on board! Peace and Shalom!

Don Wampach Honored

Don was acknowledged as Lay Alumnus of the Year at the recent celebration of Alumni Days and Quinquennial 2015 earlier this fall on the campus of the Pontifical College Josephinum.  He said he was "speechless" when his name was announced.  (You know that Don is never at a loss for words!)  Obviously this recognition impacted him deeply.  Don said to me that, from his perspective, his wife Betty shares in this recognition with him.  He described the occasion as "upbeat" and commented that the Josephinum is headed in the "right direction."  He enjoyed "catching up to date" with a number of other alumni, e.g., Bishop Bob Baker, Bob Margrett, Mike Fry, and Fr. Joe Weber.

Don is the third member of our class to be so honored.  Fr. Jim Koenigsfeld and Mike Heydinger have been so recognized in previous years.

L to R:  Fr. Jeffrey Rimelspach ('79), Bishop Bob Baker ('70),
Msgr. Leon Duesman ('67), Msgr. Christopher Schreck (Rector/President
of the Josephinum), Don Wampach ('68)

  2. Congratulations, Betty and Don! I hope you are correct about the the direction the JOSS is headed. Hopefully it is in the same direction as Pope Francis.
