Don was acknowledged as Lay Alumnus of the Year at the recent
celebration of Alumni Days and Quinquennial 2015 earlier this fall on
the campus of the Pontifical College Josephinum. He said he was
"speechless" when his name was announced. (You know that Don is never
at a loss for words!) Obviously this recognition impacted him deeply.
Don said to me that, from his perspective, his wife Betty shares in this
recognition with him. He described the occasion as "upbeat" and
commented that the Josephinum is headed in the "right direction." He
enjoyed "catching up to date" with a number of other alumni, e.g.,
Bishop Bob Baker, Bob Margrett, Mike Fry, and Fr. Joe Weber.
Don is the third member of our class to be so honored. Fr. Jim
Koenigsfeld and Mike Heydinger have been so recognized in previous
years.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Betty and Don! I hope you are correct about the the direction the JOSS is headed. Hopefully it is in the same direction as Pope Francis.
